Description

This text aims to provide a comprehensive map of relations between government and business for the general reader, policy-maker, business person and student. It asks: who wins and loses from these relations; how clear are government directives toward business; and how well placed is business to influence politics The book examines the key players, describes institutions such as the Trade Practices Commission and analyzes government-business relations in important economic sectors such as finance, manufacturing, tourism and small business. Contributors include Ross Garnaut (Australian National University), Bob Baxt (formerly Trade Practices Commission) and Allan Fels (formerly Prices Surveillance Authority).
