Author Bio

PETER WILSON AM is the National President (Chairman) of the Australian Human Resources Institute Limited (AHRI), Australia's leading professional HR association with 20,000 members, and was recently elected as Secretary-General of the World Federation of People Management Associations, the peak world body for the human resources practitioners covering 700,000 professionals in 95 countries. His executive career spanned 35 years of senior executive roles in the Commonwealth and Victorian Treasuries, Amcor and the ANZ Banking Group. He was CEO of one of Australia's largest private electricity and gas companies, Energy 21, during the 1990s. In April 2003, Peter was awarded the Centenary Medal and in January 2005 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM), for services to workplace safety and relations and community service. Peter Wilson is widely regarded as Australia's expert on mentoring and is frequently invited to speak on the subject here and abroad.
