This book is a scenario-based discussion guide about ethics within the human resources profession. The focus is on how HR leaders can let down their team members and organizations by having a lack of ethics and professional behaviors. It is designed to be used in human resources college class work, human resources professional development activities, and human resources team meetings.
Janet Santos has 25 years of experience in the Human Resources field in business and non-profit settings. She earned a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management from Washington University in St. Louis, MO, and achieved her SPHR certification. She held recruitment, employee relations and generalist positions as an individual contributor, as well as holding HR leadership roles for many years of her career. She also has a small coaching and consulting business and enjoys helping people improve their interviewing skills, build confidence in seeking new roles, and work through challenging leadership situations. Prior to going into Human Resources, she worked for 10 years in the hospitality industry, working at large urban hotels and several major resorts. She held individual contributor roles as well as leadership roles in that career. Upon retirement, she and her husband Edgar moved to Southwest Florida with their dog Chockie.
