In the context of an overwhelming number of global crises in the rest of the world, it is easy to overlook the impoverishment happening right in our backyard. Jeffrey D. Powell would know, as an inner-city product of a disenfranchised urban community. As a youth, Jeff watched their infrastructure crumble while other communities grew and thrived. Even as a young man, Jeff knew that ability was inherent in everyone. He also realized that where opportunity is lacking, ability is thwarted, and a great divide develops. Thus, the dilemma of communities that "have" and "have not" is a concern that many have attempted to solve. While a solution exists, it was unavailable to several generations of his family and neighbors who resided in this environment.

As one of the fortunate few who transcended an undercapitalized community and went to college, Powell devoted himself to a career in finance. Specifically, to address the plight of underfunded communities throughout the nation. His goal as a scholar, financial professional, and Black man was to become a creditable voice on this topic and speak from a prudent point of view.
Powell's research indicates a way forward, a cohesive and applicable method to bridge capital into communities that need it the most. He has devised a blueprint for bridging capital that can be applied methodically in any town or city while being customized within unique regional, political, and governmental realities.

Jeffrey D. Powell is an executive-level investment banking professional. Jeff transcended his childhood, graduated college, and pursued a career in finance. He became fascinated with the possibilities of impact investing and the various means to bridge capital into our often overlooked and undercapitalized communities.

After graduating college, Jeff was recruited by J.P. Morgan Bank, where his Wall Street career started, followed by Merrill Lynch, Capital Maverick Group, and Wells Fargo Bank & Co. Jeff's banking career equipped him with the essential tools for bridging Wall Street capital markets into Main Street capital needs - Bridging Capital for Impact.
