He was the Secretary General of the Shanghai Design and Innovation Center, Deputy Secretary-General of China Industrial Design Association, and Deputy Secretary-General of Shanghai Design Capital Promotion Center. In addition, he founded China's first industrial design museum. Wei Shaonong is the Dean and Professor of School of Design of East China Normal University. Yu Shen, is the Director of the China Modern Design Literature Research Center at the School of Design, East China Normal University, and the founder of the China Industrial Design Museum. Professor Shaonong Wei, is the Dean of the School of Design, East China Normal University, and the chief editor of the series A Genealogy of Industrial Design in China.
