This is a children's book about Baxter, the lost dog. Baxter is lost and alone in Arizona and wants to go home where he belongs. Along comes Cloudy a mythical talking cloud who strikes up a friendship with Baxter and proceeds to guide him and help him find the courage to persevere and keep traveling in search of his home. Throughout the story Cloudy and Baxter work in cooperation as Cloudy instructs Baxter on how to navigate and survive in the hot Arizona desert and it's treacherous landscapes. Baxter puts his trust in Cloudy who teaches Baxter how to avoid typical Arizona animals that may threaten his quest to find his way home. Cloudy demonstrates loyalty to Baxter while protecting and guiding him through many obstacles that they encounter along the way. Will Baxter find his way home
Luis Alvarez was born in Ajo, Arizona. He studied education at Northern Arizona University and has been teaching in Arizona for over 30 years. Cloudy Over Arizona is his first children's book. He currently lives in Show Low, Arizona with his wife, Sabrina and their two dogs.
