Description

1072 AD. The Normans have captured England. The Turks have captured a Norman knight. And in order to free him, a Frank warrior named Vallon must capture four rare hawks.

As they track their quarry to the far ends of the earth, from Greenland to Russia to Constantinople, Vallon and his comrades must brave raging Arctic seas, savage Vikings, and blood-drenched battlefields in a relentless race against time.

Reviews

Quite simply, Hawk Quest is the best book I've read this year. I loved this book. I wish I'd written it. Ben Kane An 11th-century epic with action to equal the best of Bernard Cornwell. THIS is writing Anthony Riches Only once in a generation does a first novel emerge which has such power and depth and scope. With Hawk Quest, Robert Lyndon has shown himself a master storyteller of the highest quality. An absorbing, viscerally moving epic that takes the standard historical fare of love, treachery, passion, and redemption and lifts them into a new stratosphere. I got lost in this for days on end, and never wanted to emerge. Outstanding! M.C. Scott Lyndon's story carries readers from one vivid scene to the next with great style Sunday Times

Author Bio

Robert Lyndon has been a falconer since boyhood. A keen student of history, he was intrigued by accounts of hawks being used as ransoms during the Middle Ages. Some of the scenes in Hawk Quest were inspired by Lyndon's own experiences as a falconer, climber and traveller in remote places. He has written many books and articles on history and exploration.
