"Sea Change" is a high-seas romantic adventure following Keith and Andrea, two people thrown together by chance as they fight for survival against the sea. Natural forces and modern-day pirates threaten their chances as they make their way around the world in a thrilling voyage. In the first volume of the series, Keith and Andrea set out from Fort Lauderdale for the Panama Canal. During their journey, they are schooled in the risks and challenges of seeking a life beyond the ordinary. As they learn about each other and work to become an effective team, they discover the courage it takes to throw aside mundanity and take a chance on something more. "Sea Change" is a novel for the over one hundred twenty million adults in the US coming to grips with the dashed potential of a life spent doing the right thing. It is escapist literature presenting an escape that is within reach. The goal of the novel is to inspire "coming of age" adults to reach for a little more, or at least spend a few hours going there in their imaginations.
R.K. Preston is the pen name of a real-life sailor, physician, and dreamer. Sailing since he bought his first boat at the age of 16 on Michigan's inland lakes, he has since sailed the Chesapeake, Caribbean, and coast of California. "Sea Change" merges the author's hunger for the sea with the desire for a life unbound from the constraints of a life well-lived. R.K. Preston is the author of more than two dozen articles and book chapters on topics ranging from basic science to bioethics. "Sea Change" is his first work of fiction.
