Description

A seagoing adventure story that takes place in the U.S. and the Mediterranean. It begins in the year 1800. A small commercial shipbuilder constructs a fighting frigate and becomes entangled with a government bureaucracy.

The privately owned frigate provides protection for cargo boats. The frigate is, in essence, a privateer. This convoluted historic (fiction) novel is laced with enough humor and dangerous enemies to keep you turning pages.

Alan grew up in Superior, Wisconsin. Moved near Port Wing on lake Superior. Raced sailboats on Lake Superior including many races of 350 miles. Obtained a pilot license at age 18.
