En route, she becomes entangled in a turf war in rural Wyoming between local farmers and a group of Native Americans who are using the disruption of law enforcement to take back their ancestral land. Meanwhile, Sophie struggles between loyalty to her father, a US Senator, and her husband, a US soldier who volunteers to defect and fight for California's independence. In Tennessee, Amber struggles to keep her family together as immigration control is given back to the states and her husband is hunted by a corrupt law enforcement officer. The Breaking Unity series follows the lives of people from across the United States as they struggle to adapt during and after the fall of the United States government. If the States were no longer United, to whom would you be loyal
Growing up the daughter of military medical professionals, JC spent her childhood traveling around the United States with her parents and two siblings. Her family finally settled in Nebraska, where JC completed her degree in Economics from Nebraska Wesleyan University. After graduation, she moved to Minnesota, where she still lives with her husband, Scott, and son, Maxwell. After spending years chasing a career in finance, for which she would never be passionate, she was encouraged by her husband to pursue her lifelong dream of writing fiction. With the support of her family, she now spends her days postulating on paper the challenges of a world only slightly askew from reality- and loving every second of it.
