As the novel begins, young Rob Coogan's biggest challenge is determining if he should pursue life as a musician or as a professional footballer playing in England. In the time of The Irish Troubles, Coogan unwittingly plays a part in an IRA car bomb detonation that takes the lives of his adoring younger siblings. He leaves Ireland for a prestigious music school in Boston, where he begins life as a guitarist and songwriter. In church one night, he discovers the younger brother of a friend being molested by the priest. The choice he makes that night sets his life down an unforeseen path of justice, rage, and secrets.
Kevin Couhig is a natural storyteller. "A Man For Others" is his first novel, and he is currently working on his second. Couhig was the first Parish President of West Feliciana, the Chief Executive Officer of Source Capital, and Chairman of the Board of PreSonus Audio Electronics until 2021. He is a graduate of St. Francisville High School and Georgetown University and served Louisiana as Chief of Industrial and Economic Development. He has three children and four grandchildren. He is an ardent outdoorsman, music buff and a fanatical soccer fan and coach. He spends his weekends following Liverpool Football Club, Wycombe Wanderers FC, and LSU Football, his grandchildren's sporting and music events and sneaks in a few duck hunts each year.
