Seventeen-year-old Isabelle Mattias, the privileged daughter of an artist and a dead rock star, is an unusual teenage girl. When she disappears from her college in the middle of the night, Superintendent Andrew Fenwick arrives to investigate. As unsettling hints of an abusive past surface, Fenwick grows ever more concerned for Isabelle's safety. Is it too much to hope that the girl is still alive
'Unusual and intelligent - The detection element is cleverly done and the story genuinely exciting' Literary Review 'A meticulously plotted novel that is deeply unsettling almost to the final climax' The Scotsman 'Dead of Winter is chilling in all senses - it's clinical, harsh and pulls no punches, and benefits a great deal from being set during a severe weather warning. The final scenes are a thrilling race against time when temperatures have plummeted and the snow is piling up'. Crime Review
