Description

I shot the snowman. But I did not kill the guy inside. From this first line, I was hooked, and I didnt wriggle off until the end. I enjoyed the story so much that I slowed down my reading speed to delay finishing the book. I loved the characters, the plot (even if I had a good idea of whodunit or who I hoped had done it), the writing. Nikki Knight achieved the right balance of quirkiness with believability character development, no one too stupid to live, logic and coincidence, precocious kids who save the day but arent annoyingly adult, a love interest that makes sense and isnt smarmy or cringe-inducing, a farting moose. I am looking forward to the continuation of the series.

Author Bio

Nikki Knight is the pen name of an award-winning longtime New York radio news anchor. She grew up in Western Pennsylvania and started her radio career as a teenage DJ there. After college, she worked at a small radio station in Vermont, and loved the town and the people...but not the snow. Her career led to larger and more prestigious newsrooms, but she still hasn't managed to escape from snow- she lives in Connecticut with her husband and son, in a houseowned by their cat. Her Vermont story, "Bad Apples" recently won an Honorable Mention in the Black Orchid Novella contest.
