Welcome to St. Thomas Magic Academy, a school unlike any other, where ancient secrets are taught alongside spells, and students carry the weight of extraordinary legacies. For Asher Grey, an ordinary life turns extraordinary when he stumbles into a world he never imagined-a world where he is not just a boy, but the last descendant of the legendary Grey lineage. Once thought extinct, the Greys were powerful and enigmatic, tied to a prophecy that could alter the fate of the world.
Asher's arrival at St. Thomas isn't just a coincidence; it's the beginning of an unfolding prophecy. The celestial bloodline of the Greys links him to ancient magic and a destiny fraught with peril. With his true name concealed and his past shrouded in tragedy, Asher must navigate a maze of secrets, uncovering the truths of his ancestry while mastering a power he barely understands.
The towering halls of St. Thomas are alive with magic, mystery, and danger. Dormitories radiate the colors of the four great houses-Adler, Archer, Hendrix, and Brady-each representing a celestial race that once shaped the world. Among these students, Asher's unique purple uniform marks him as different, drawing awe, suspicion, and rivalry. With every step, Asher feels the pull of the prophecy, whispering that he is the key to confronting a darkness long thought defeated.
Amid the challenges of magical training and the tension of an approaching war, Asher forges unexpected friendships with fellow students. Together, they uncover ancient texts, face trials that test their courage, and stand against forces determined to manipulate the power of their bloodlines for evil. Asher's path leads him to confront shadowy enemies, including a rogue faction within the Catholic Guard that seeks to exploit the magic of the celestial races for their own dark purposes.
Yet the story of St. Thomas Magic Academy is more than an epic battle between good and evil; it's also a tale of personal discovery. Asher's struggles with his identity, the pain of his family's tragic past, and the weight of expectations mirror the universal challenges of growing up and finding one's place in the world. Through humor, heartache, and heroism, Asher learns that true power lies not in magic but in the choices we make and the courage to face our fears.
Robert Castleberry, inspired by his own journey of overcoming obstacles, weaves a tale that blends thrilling action with poignant moments of introspection. With vivid world-building, a cast of unforgettable characters, and a story brimming with suspense, humor, and heart, St. Thomas Magic Academy will captivate readers of all ages.
This is a story for anyone who has ever felt out of place, who has faced challenges and risen above them, and who believes that even the smallest spark of courage can light the way in the darkest of times. Enter the world of St. Thomas Magic Academy, where magic, mystery, and destiny await.
The story of Asher Grey is deeply intertwined with my own life experiences. Growing up in Wichita, Kansas, I faced significant challenges, battling dyslexia and dysgraphia-barriers that kept me from fully reading until the fifth grade. It was in that pivotal year that I discovered a love for the fantasy genre, a spark that would ignite my passion for storytelling and my lifelong journey in education.
My academic path began at Butler Community College, where I earned an Associate of Science degree in 2014. I then pursued a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Wichita State University, graduating in 2016. Driven by a desire to make a lasting impact, I achieved a Master's in Curriculum and Instructional Design with honors in 2019. In 2024, I proudly earned my Doctorate in Organizational Leadership K-12 from Grand Canyon University.
As a fifth-grade teacher, my mission is to inspire students by showing them that challenges can be overcome with determination and perseverance. Much like Asher Grey's journey, my own has been filled with struggles and triumphs, and I hope this story resonates with anyone who has faced obstacles and dreams of rising above them.
