Skyler Conrad is all grown up now. She's reclusive, choosing to live behind a locked gate. When she was a child, they discovered she had a highly unusual gift of sight. Her grandmother, Rose England, wrote everything down in a journal, and protected her from those who might seek to publicize the unusual happenings. The family has kept it quiet for all of these years and now the story is being told. The journals have been released.Skyler's father, Jimmy, was sent to prison when she was just a baby and her mom ran off to strip in some sleazy club in Illinois. Rose took Skyler and her brother Bo, to live with her in the hills of Missouri. Her home was a gated fortress, with a lake, small boats and several acres for the kids to grow in. Bo was protective of his sister, being 6 years older. Skyler was 10, the first time Rose witnessed a vision. They were on their way to see Jimmy in a halfway house. Rose took her to see a psychic phenomena specialist named, Dr. Matthew Roads. They both listen carefully, and Dr. Roads records her recitation of what happens right before a vision. A brilliant light awakens her first, which she describes as thousands of diamonds falling in the sky. Then, as if a motion picture is playing in her mind, the shadowy images grow sharper. She realizes she's seeing an event that is going to happen in the future. The twists and turns of the supernatural events bring the family together. They grow closer as they navigate the perilous edges of Skyler's claims. Inspirational passages are threaded into the yarn of the story through Rose England. She's an ordained minister and she grapples with her faith in the unseen forces. Emily Stone is a known clairvoyant. Dr. Roads confers with her and she comes especially to meet Skyler Conrad. She wants to see the child that has the unusual gift. She sits and reads Skyler, revealing something that deeply shocks everyone in the room, especially Rose.As Skyler grows into a young woman, she stays close to the gated compound where she was raised. Many in the town know there's something special about her, but she never divulges details. Only the protective inner circle know about Skyler, until now. Now, her story is being told.
