Description

'Funny, daring, and romantic, youll always have a good time with Kate Johnson' Sarah Rees Brennan, author of Long Live Evil

No good deed goes unpunished

When thief Ember Hart saves a maiden from a murderous secret society, she finds herself sacrificed in the girls place. Anointed the Promised One, Embers prophesised arrival sets her on the path to an unholy union with the kingdoms beastly prince, but she has no intention of being a sacrificial lamb at least, not again so when Rhaell, the gruff captain of the guards, proposes an alliance to restore the kingdoms lost magic and then use it to send Ember home, she readily agrees.

But gathering the scattered pieces of the Heart of Yskar they need isnt going to be easy, and with her awareness of Rhaell growing with every barb and bated breath, Ember will need a bit of her own unique magic to escape this world unscathed

Reviews

A vibrant magical world, woven throughout with Johnson's trademark wit, snark and spice Ruth Frances Long

Author Bio

Kate Johnson was born in the 1980s in Yorkshire and now lives in Essex, where she belongs to a small pride of cats. She has a second cousin who made the Guinness Book of Records for brewing the world's strongest beer and she also once ran over herself with a Segway scooter. These two things are not related.

Kate has worked in an airport, a lab and various shops, but much prefers writing because mornings are definitely not her best friend. In 2017 she won Paranormal Romantic Novel of the Year from the Romantic Novelists Association with her novel Max Seventeen.
