Despite Liz having to share her business with her ex-husband, she continues to keep a tight rein on things, so everything runs smoothly. That is until her great-grandfather, Alexander, passes away and leaves her his house in Scotland, with the stipulation that she must live in the house for 3 months before she can sell. Panicked at the idea of being away from work for so long, Liz reluctantly stays in Scotland trying to find a way out of Alexander's requirements, only to find that he might have been murdered and is visiting her via ghostly dreams. Past life visions, a growing attraction to her great-grandfather's young research partner, and news from home that her ex is trying to take over her business, threaten the safe distance and control Liz has run her life by. Now she will have to learn to trust others and open her heart to solve what really happened to Alexander and save the man she was destined to love.
Kimberly Hein-Beardsley began writing short stories for fun in high school. She has always had a deep fascination with her Scottish background, her maternal grandmother having been a McFarlane. When she visited Scotland for the first time in 1991, she felt like she was coming home. She lives in Wisconsin with her husband, two teenage boys, and two felines.
