Description

THE INTERNATIONAL SENSATION

On a summer just like any other, a family's perfect life is shattered forever in a sleepy seaside town near Rome.

Miriam vows to tell no one - not her cold mother, her devastated aunt nor the police - what really happened the night before her cousin Betta's body was found. A storm has washed away all evidence, and with no witnesses, the Ansaldo family and the memory of Betta are thrust into a world of public scrutiny. Without a thread of hope to pull them through their insurmountable grief, the foundations of their family threaten to fall apart.

Self-medicating to ease the burden of her secret, Miriam finds herself in the company of a young drug dealer, Leo, and with a set of unlikely new friends. But as he becomes embroiled in the mystery of the violence Miriam refuses to divulge, will Leo's quest for answers shine a light through the family's despair or plunge them further into its dark

The beautifully layered Italian bestseller, All That is Left of Life is a brilliant mediation on love, loss, resilience and hope which asks how we carry on in the face of tragedy, perfect for fans of Elena Ferrante and Isabel Allende.
