Gatsby wants to show off his new found wealth to his old flame Daisy, and the best way to do that is, of course, to throw a series of fabulous parties. Despite Gatsby's dubious friends (one of whom sports a disturbing pair of human teeth cufflinks), his party lifestyle is more exciting than a double bill of Pimp My Ride and Made In Chelsea. With jealousy raging, exquisite cocktails and some spectacular deaths, The Great Gatsby is the quintessential Jazz Age novel. Just watch out for Doctor T. J. Eckleburg and his giant specs.
F Scott Fitzgerald (1896 - 1940) was an American author who wrote during the Jazz Age, a term he coined himself. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest American writers of the 20th century. He finished four novels: This Side of Paradise, The Beautiful and Damned, Tender Is the Night, and his most famous, The Great Gatsby. David Mann is an artist and illustrator who studied illustration at the Cambridge School of Art. He has previously illustrated for both publishers and corporate clients. He lives in Hertfordshire.
