Grace Tynan's life is terrifyingly planned: her career in property, the school car pool, her marriage to a man whose absent-mindedness means she has to organise everything. So when a college dropout called Adam knocks the side mirror off her BMW with his anti-nuclear placard, the last thing Grace expects is to fall in love. Anxious friends soon notice an alarming change - Grace gives up work, she shuns dinner parties and, most disturbing of all, she stops shaving her underarm hair. Has the Grace they know and love turned into a Rainbow Warrior, or has she simply decided that her grey life needs a bit of colouring in
Praise for Clare Dowling: 'Sparkling and witty...a great beach read * Irish Tatler *
Commercial fiction at its most entertaining * Marian Keyes, nominating EXPECTING EMILY as one of her favourite books of 2001 *
Very warm, very funny...witty and refreshingly honest * Irish World *
What sets this apart is the quality of the writing. It is great fun, a great read * RTE *
Dowling has an adept touch for light and warm-hearted women's fiction. She has a likeable tone and warm, funny characters and is similar in style to Marian Keyes... wonderfully entertaining * Sunday Tribune *
