Description

Naoki Prize winner Mizuki Tsujimura takes on the Japanese animation sector in this fiery tale of an insiders look at one of Japan's most beloved industries. Best described as a novelisation of popular anime Shirobako, Anime Supremacy follows a group of best friends who go into the anime world after their experiences in the anime club of their high school. Their dream is to one day work on an anime together. But as they soon find out, the world of adulthood and work presents obstacles and stresses that they weren't prepared for.

Author Bio

Mizuki Tsujimura is an award winning author originally from Yamanashi, Japan. From an early age Tsujimura was a fan of reading. Whether it was reading manga like Doraemon and Pahman or horror novels, such as Sherlock Holmes and Rampo Edokawa's Boy Detectives Club series she devoured everything. She would turn her focus on Fuyumi Ono's Ghost Hunt series (Del Rey Manga) and that would change everything for her. In high school, Tsujimura would begin writing her first novel Tsumetai Kousha no Toki wa Tomaru. Tsumetai would eventually be published when she was in her early twenties and it would go on to win the 31st Mephisto Award in 2004. She followed that up with a handful of works that were nominated for major awards including the prestigious Naoki Prize (Zero, Eight, Zero, Seven in 2009). Her 2010 novel Tsunagu would take the Eiji Yoshikawa Prize for New Authors. And then in 2012 she would eventually win Japan's top literary award, the Naoki Prize, for her work Kagi no nai Yume wo Miru. She has branched out from literature to more genre fiction as of late. Furthermore she even dabbled in some acting.
