Bette Ford grew up in Saginaw, Michigan, where she continues to live. She obtained her bachelors degree from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. Bette began her teaching career in Detroit and completed her masters degree from Wayne State University. She has taught for the Detroit Public Schools HeadStart program for many years, and is the author of eight previous novels.
