A visceral and unforgettable picaresque, and damning portrait of vice and poverty in a third-world country, an insane journey into the condemned soul of a sexual deviant, Dirty Havana Trilogy is one of the most celebrated novels to have come out of Latin America for decades.
"Grotesquely compelling...Pedro Juan Gutierrez appears destined to become a cult writer.' TLS 'A tale of human ingenuity and hidden hopefulness overcoming near-insuperable odds.' Guardian 'One of the sexiest books I have read in a long time.' David Profumo, Literary Review
Pedro Juan Gutierrez began his working life at the age of eleven, as an ice-cream vendor and newsboy. The author of several published works of poetry, he lives in Havana. He is also the author of Tropical Animal, which Faber published in 2003.
