Description

Brand new Jamie and Claire novel in the, epic, bestselling Outlander series. The first in five years. This will get you through Droughtlander! THE NINTH NOVEL IN THE BESTSELLING OUTLANDER SERIES. The past may seem the safest place to be. But it's the most dangerous time to be alive America is on the edge of a bloody conflict, a country torn by war. Jamie and Claire survived Scotland and the Civil war that threatened its destruction. They must do the same now to protect themselves and their family. Roger and Brianna have fled the dangers of 1980s Scotland and Rob Cameron to return to Fraser's Ridge in 1779 America. But the North Carolina backcountry is not untouched by the Revolution and tensions are at an all-time high. Claire is concerned not only for her family but for Jamie and the dangers he faces. She will not lose him again. The Fraser's must use their collective knowledge of the future to keep themselves safe in the past. What the Fraser's don't know is that deadly forces from the future are reaching back to find them...

Reviews

I challenge anyone to read just a few pages of this monumental book and not, within moments, disappear alongside Claire through the stones, to another time and place. I found myself 10 years ago, embarking on my Outlander TV journey. I was literally sucked into Dianas dramatic story (the line between reality and fiction as fragile as the pages of this book, held between Jamies tapping finger and thumb). Only now, over a decade later, 8 seasons and 101 episodes of extraordinary Television, do I find myself with some sadness, looking back on this epic journey, yearning to do it all again. The joy of this book though, is that one can, simply by reading again * Sam Heughan *
Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series has brought a touch of Caledonian magic to millions around the globe - and also brought so many fans to Scotland to explore the spectacular country that is my home. We readers, viewers and Scots are grateful to her for sharing her love of Scottish history and culture. Outlander remains a treasure to be enjoyed and shared. * Ian Rankin *

Author Bio

DIANA GABALDON is the author of the international bestselling Outlander novels and Lord John Grey series. She says that the Outlander series started by accident: I decided to write a novel for practice in order to learn what it took to write a novel, and to decide whether I really wanted to do it for real. I did and here we all are trying to decide what to call books that nobody can describe, but that fortunately most people seem to enjoy. And enjoy them they do in their millions, all over the world. Published in 42 countries and 38 languages, in 2014 the Outlander novels were made into an acclaimed TV series starring Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser and Caitrona Balfe as Claire. Diana lives with her husband and dogs in Scottsdale, Arizona.
