Compo's narrative has been comparedDorothy Parker's; her characters display the same irrestible blend of smartass wit, despair, and whistling-in-the-dark bravado. Here, Giselle Entwistle, who runs a talent agency juggles a roster of demanding show-business clients ranging from teen idols to Tupperware demonstrators extraordinaire, to Pandra whose haunting memoir of growing up in 70s glitter-era LA awaits publication held up by a possible murder. ' Susan Compo is an excellent writer with an extremely original vision.' Hubert Selby Jnr.
"Ecstasy on paper: it had to happen," - Mick Mercer, Melody Maker; "...an excellent writer with an extremely original vision." - Hubert Selby Jr; "A complete Los Angeles original...elegant, wistful, funny" - Sandra Tsing Loh
