This is a work written by a very young writer who displays infinite maturity in terms of her ability to delve into the deepest recesses of character and make it possible to understand, for example, a grasping social upstart and a wife abuser, yet, at the same time, alongside the wisdom and comprehension that would befit a psychologist, there shines a lively wit and, despite so many bleak realities, a youthful zest for life. It is a novel that touches raw nerves, that shocks, intrigues, cries out against injustice and engages the readers attention from the first page to the last.
