FROM THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF ADULTS AND ANIMALS

'Compulsive and hilarious, like a brilliant gossip with your best friend. Emma Jane Unsworth is my favourite' Sara Pascoe

'Her best yet funny, gritty, delightfully feral and, as ever, painfully truthful' DOLLY ALDERTON

An amazing writer MARGOT ROBBIE

Once a slag, always a slag

Its the 1990s. Sarah is 15, obsessed with boy bands, sex and getting drunk on Malibu. Most of all, shes hung up on her teacher, Mr Keaveney.

Fast forward 26 years. Sarah is 41, the last of the party girls. But the mad nights out are losing their shine. And her teenage dreams are now distant, queasy memories.

Theres only one thing for it: an adventure. So, Sarah sets off with her sister Juliette on a whisky-fuelled campervan trip across Scotland.

The sisters have never been alike, but they know all the dark corners of each others history and its time to dig up some demons, kicking and screaming.

Because the things that once defined us shouldnt define us forever, should they

Adults was the UKs #6 bestselling hardback, The Sunday Times chart 9th February 2020 / Margot Robbie talking about Animals, as quoted in CHANELs short film segment, In the library with Margot Robbie

Reviews

'Her best yet funny, gritty, delightfully feral and, as ever, painfully truthful' Dolly Alderton

'Compulsive and hilarious, like a brilliant gossip with your best friend. Emma Jane Unsworth is my favourite. She understands what it is to be a modern woman, and makes me feel better about it' Sara Pascoe

'An amazing writer' Margot Robbie

This new book from one of our favourite British authors is set to be her best yet. A frank exploration of sisterhood, Scottish road trips and leaving ones demons in the past' ELLE, Books to Look Forward to in 2025

'The strongest prose stylist of our age. Slags is so brilliant, warm and funny. Women are going to be extraordinarily grateful for her putting to the page the difficult stuff and making it funny. That's her magic trick. Slags is the most distressing funny novel Ive ever read, like I May Destroy You was the most distressing funny show I've seen. It's a huge compliment because it takes such courage and clarity of vision and theres no other author in England who warrants it as Unsworth does' Emma Forrest

'Emma Jane Unsworth is one of the best writers to ever live fact and SLAGS is already an early contender for my book of the decade. This novel is somehow hilariously funny, while also being scathing and searingly honest about the world and compellingly readable. I read this in one go, unable to put it down, and I still now can't stop thinking about Sarah and Juliette. I love love loved it and will be telling everyone I know to read it while also calling them slags' Lucy Vine
