Whether they need a limo to the airport, a name for their dog, or someone to run their whole life, Matthew can help. And he'll do it with a smile. But what starts out as the perfect job soon becomes a nightmare that ends in Matthew's devastating downfall.
"'An intelligent, ambitious novel, serving notice that Leigh is a talent to watch.' Time Out 'Painful, unstoppable, heart-breaking, hilarious and exciting. No cynic likes to be proved wrong, but in this case they might have to be... For once, just for once, the superlatives are justified.' The Scotsman; 'At turns scathing, poignant and hilarious, Leigh depicts a world of synthetic diversion, lost hopes, social awkwardness and self-delusion.' TLS; 'The Greatest Gift is a withering report on the emptiness and narcissism of the corporate world... Leigh has steered away from the familiar territory of the first-time novelist and delivered something more distinctive.' Daily Telegraph"
