The Lavender Island Wilderness Lodge, run bythe indomitable Maureen and her gregarious husband Lew, is a converted homesteadthat sells its international guests a fantasy - a taste of life on the untamed frontier.

But the pristine natural beauty of Alaska soon reveals a wilderness of conflicted humandesire and, as Mira nurses an erotic obsession, the other residents of Lavender Islandare making plans and taking steps that will tear apart the island's seeming paradise.

'An astounding debut: original and adventurous, horny and hilarious - it's everything I want from a book.' - Rachel Yoder, author of Nightbitch

Reviews

'I didn't realize how much I needed this lusty, funny, heart-breaking book until I devoured it in a single sitting ... a bildungsroman set at the edge of the world; a novel about people who belong everywhere and nowhere and the vast, unknowable wilderness of desire. A sharp, flawless debut' - Carmen Maria Machado, author of Her Body and Other Parties
