Young Samson, living in rural New Mexico, abandoned by his father and abused by his
mother's lover, has one confidant, his Grampa, and one dream: to save enough money to buy a gun.
But the money is slow in coming, and his tormentor only gets strongerespecially when Samson falls in love with a neighbor, Rosa.
As Samson ages, he hardens. His revenge on those who betrayed him takes shocking form.
Redemption comesbut it may be too late.
Written in a style both spare and intense, The Gun Jar is a searing portrait of an innocent
