Description

"Chasing Wonder" is a story for all ages, about confronting the unknown. The story is told in clever and entertaining rhyme, rich in word play, that adds multiple layers of meaning and intrigue.

A fast-paced underwater tale told by an EMMY-award-winning author, "Chasing Wonder" is the odyssey of a small oyster, banished from the oyster bed "Just because!" On his reluctant journey of discovery, he encounters Esteemed Lobster, Squid Pro Quo, Coral Larry, Marlin Brand-Oh, and other wittily named characterssmart and foolish, good and evil, all of whom shape his journey and ultimately his, and the reader's, self-awareness.

Suffused with humor and wisdom, with enticing illustrations (each one itself containing a game of discovery), the story captivates readers quickly and entertains them throughout, en route to a dramatic ending. Alive with the joys of wonderment, this book is easy to read, hard to put down, and insightfully profound.

Author Bio

More than 30-million people have enjoyed Greg Lewis' storytelling in rhyme. During the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, Lewis, an NBC Sports commentator, wrote Legs, Legs, Legs, a joyful rhyme about the different shapes and sizes of Olympian legs and the tasks they perform. The feature earned Lewis an EMMY award for Writing.
Across his 30-year TV career, Lewis received numerous other honors for writing, journalism, and documentary excellence. His essays and commentary also appeared in a variety of publications, including NEWSWEEK and the International Herald Tribune.

Since retiring from network TV, Lewis has written parody, lyrics, commentary, and poetry. His epic poem, Chasing Wonder, is an unconventional marriage of allegory, rhyme, wordplay, values, ideals, history, philosophy, and joy. Critical readers have called Chasing Wonder a work of art, a book of miracles, and a beautifully crafted, imaginative, extremely clever story, filled with powerful insights into life that will stand the test of time.

Lewis has lived in Aspen, CO more than 50 years. He commuted worldwide to broadcast international sports for 30 years, including several Olympic Games. He graduated from Middlebury College in 1969 and received an Honorable Discharge from the US Marine Corps. Sports Illustrated featured Lewis as a Hometown Hero for his humanitarian initiatives in Sarajevo during the Bosnia War, in the early 1990's.
