Description

All she wanted was a mothers love

Curl up with this heartrending new novel from the Sunday Times bestselling author of A Mothers Struggle and A Daughters Ruin.
DESPISED
Pennys childhood was spent in the shadows of her mothers business schemes, feeling alone and unimportant. It fell to Lorna, her mothers acquaintance, to take care of the lonely little girl, but the rejection always cut deep.

DETERMINED
When Penny turns sixteen and tragedy strikes, Lornas cousin Maureen, a feisty ex-stripper from London, strides into her life. Penny determines to make her own way in the world and, with Maureen, throws herself into a thrilling new life on the grimy streets of Soho. She makes new friends, but cant avoid crossing the paths of some very dangerous men.

DANGER
In this seedy world of dancing girls and gangsters Penny must grow up quickly, she must be brave, and shes forced to face the truth about some very dark secrets from her past.

A heartbreaking historical novel about betrayal, hardship and ultimately hope. Perfect for fans of Nadine Dorries, Diney Costeloe and Dilly Court.

Author Bio

I was raised in South London, the streets my playground, and this working class area became the inspiration for my novels. My working life was varied, from shop assistant, secretary to The British Tourist Authority and Manager of a busy GP Group Practice. In the Eighties I moved to Surrey with my husband and two children, but in 1998 there was a catalyst in my life when my son, aged 27died. After working for two years with other bereaved parents in a support group, I took up writing and my first novel, A Cuckoo in Candle Lane, was born. My husband and I now live in Spain.
