Author Bio

Them Vernon is a writer, actor, and academic. After training in Chicago, he went on to act in various Hollywood productions, including The Fugitive,Seinfeld, and General Hospital. . He recently appeared inSaving Hope, Murdoch Mysteries, Killjoysand elsewhere. Vernon is a Vanier doctoral candidate in English-Creative Writing at the University of New Brunswick. His most recent publications include the novelThe Drifts(Coach House, 2010). An advocate for under-served youth & adults, he co-foundedArts Expand, a Los Angeles-based arts education initiative.He contributes to blogs, including American Refugee, Notes on Arts Educations, Words Matter, and Huffington Post. He moved from the States to Toronto as a queer refugee with his partner, Vajdon.
