Jean-Christophe Derrien studied scriptwriting for the cinema, which led him to animated cartoons (Bob Morane, Blake & Mortimer ...) then almost inevitably to comics, where he garnered acclaim for series Rsistance and Poker. Frenchman Xavier Fourquemin went to Belgium to learn the art of bandes dessines, and has since published several albums and series including Alban and La lgende du Changeling.
