The Progenitor has stolen the only thing that matters to John and Naomitheir teenage son, Matthew. Trapped in the recesses of his mind, Matthew is held hostage by his maniacal overlord, Mendax, the Progenitor's viceroy. Leaping into Matthew's mind through the brain net known as Morpheus in order to rescue his son, John discovers an all too familiar place, the online game of Mendacium he helped write into existence. Abandoning all caution, John traverses the fantastical land in the hopes of reuniting his family. Both John and Matthew must surrender to the higher powers at play if they wish to have a chance of making it out alive.
C.L. Aguilar is a natural storyteller and an explorer of truth. Growing up in a home with a single mother suffering mental illness, with an absent father who was a professional con man, C.L. found his escape in the nerd-dome of video games, anime, music, and movies. He draws inspiration from these worlds, writing speculative fiction as a means to help readers deal with difficult circumstances. Finding God after marriage, he desires to author stories with deeper meaning and a biblical worldview. He has authored two books to date, Le Grand Loup and Mendacium Book 1: Project Morpheus, with many more in the works.
