Born in 1957 in Indiana, John Milo Ford was a writer, game designer and poet. He was heavily involved in fan culture, regularly attending conventions and hosting panels. As well as critically-acclaimed novels, he also wrote poetry collections and a number of tabletop role playing games, including for the Star Trek franchise. He was nominated for and won many awards, including the Philip K. Dick Award for Growing Up Weightless and the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel for The Dragon Waiting.
