Alyssa A. Means, known to friends as Ally, is a Black American author, musician, with a passion for politics. She was born in Houston, Texas and lived there for all of her youth. She attended colleges in San Antonio and historically Black university Prairie View A&M. She graduated from Texas State University, where she gained her nickname Ally after being overly annoyed at the lack of respect in the pronunciation of her given name. No, it is not said how you think.
She now resides in Austin, Texas, where she knows what to expect, great music, friendly people and so much family. Unbeknownst to young Alyssa, her family has a rich legacy of Civil Rights and barrier-breaking, which explains the political activism in her blood. She was once a delegate for then candidate Barack Hussein Obama, she has marched for Women's Rights, and LGBTQ rights. Her stories reflect the world she came from, the world she wants to live in and some of them the silliness that lives in her brain. Her genres range from young adult to OMG what the heck is happening this is not for children.
Her pronouns are, She, Black, Woman, Ally, a friend.
