Description

Literary sci-fi about revolutionary technology Join, which allows minds to unite their consciousness but may be blinding the world to its horrific reality. Chance and Leap are confronted by a remorseless killer who manipulates the networks that regulate life in the post-Join world. Join's promise of living multiple lives, perfect companionship and immortality has hidden the reality of an environmentally-ravaged North America and an underground community of 'ferals' left behind by the rush of technology. Steve Toutonghi's writing warns us of a dark future.

Reviews

Praise for Join

"[Toutonghi] combines smart, imaginative extrapolation about technology and a deep curiosity about civilization and the human condition. Along the way, he brings up head-spinning questions about individuality, society, ecology, euthanasia, aging, death, immortality, tech industry politics, class, polyamory, and gender identity... It's a chilling observation about the nature of the individual verses the nature of the group, and it lends Join a compelling urgency."
