Rose slept for a hundred years and when she awoke the world as she knew it had vanished, utterly.
She has gone from being a cherished only child to being the sole heir to a vast, interstellar empire. From being alone to being surrounded by friends; from being protected against everything - whether she wanted to be or not - to having others depend upon her.In the superb stand-alone novel A Long, Long Sleep we saw her survive assassination attempts and heartbreak alike. Now, in the stand-alone sequel, Rose must take control of her future for the sake of her friends - and find a way to protect them without unwittingly caging them in love...My plain words aren't enough to do this beautiful book justice, but what I can say is this: I implore each and every person to read this emotionally wrenching, bittersweet journey of a novel. A LONG, LONG SLEEP is easily one of the best novels of 2011 - THE BOOK SMUGGLERS
Few books affect me to the point of recommending them to everyone I know and coming back to me long after the last page has been turned. , with its haunting beauty and emotional devastation, is an exception. Keep an eye on Anna Sheehan; she's definitely a talent to watch - THE SF SITEAnna Sheehan has been a dedicated writer since her first year in high school, when her novella won second place in a local competition, losing only to a (now) professional mystery writer. Her first novel was published serially in a local newsletter when she was 16. She is a regular attendee of the Pacific Northwest Writers Association conference, who first invited her to attend their meeting with a scholarship. Anna lives on an isolated mountain ranch in central Oregon.
