Description

"A tense, gripping SF house of horrors in space, where not all the monsters are inhuman. I enjoyed this enormously." - Peter McLean, author of Priest of Bones For two years in deep space, the freighter Demeter and a small crew have collected botanical life from other planets. It's a lesson in patience and hell. Mechanics Ensign Reina is ready to jump ship, if only because her abusive ex is also aboard, as well as her overbearing boss. It's only after a foreign biological creature sneaks aboard and wreaks havoc on the ship and crew that Reina must find her grit - and maybe create a gadget or two - to survive... that is, if the crew members don't lose their sanity and turn on each other in the process. AUTHOR: Former TV writer Anne Tibbets is author of The Line Book One and Two: CARRIER and WALLED, and co-authored the first book of the sci-fi series EXTINCTION BIOME: INVASION, and authored the second, EXTINCTION BIOME: DISPERSAL, both as Addison Gunn. When Anne isn't writing she's a Literary Agent.

Reviews

"If youre in the mood to be scared, this one is an excellent choice." -- AnalogSF
"The action scenes are excellent, and, with page-turning twists and turns, its a race to the end to see who will be left standing." -- Booklist
A movie waiting to happen, SCREAMS FROM THE VOID is a clever distillation of all the B-movie tropes we love, but with a fresh sharp edge. A claustrophobic setting, a great monster, and nonstop action starts SCREAMS on a nine and then smashes through the ceiling to a thirteen! -- Peter Clines, NYT Best Selling Author
"A tense, gripping SF house of horrors in space, where not all the monsters are inhuman. I enjoyed this enormously." -- Peter McLean, author of Priest of Bones
SCREAMS FROM THE VOID is a knockout. Tibbets ratchets up the tension to ALIENS-level dread and never lets up. Bursting with memorable characters and shocking moments of violence, this is space-horror done right. Highly recommended! -- Jonathan Janz, author of Siren and the Specter
"With memorable characters, tense pacing, and a scary-as-f*ck enemy, SCREAMS FROM THE VOID is a perfect combination of deep-space horror and feminist fury. Anne Tibbets balances the story of survival with each of her characters difficult pasts for a swift and exciting white-knuckle adventure. A terrifying and badass exploration of how fear brings out the best -- and worst -- in all of us." -- Mike Chen, author of WE COULD BE HEROES
"Scary sci-fi in the vein of Alien and Escape Velocity, it moves at pace and lurches from twist to turn with satisfying inevitability." -- Concatenation
