Could the US be losing sight of other international threats as we busy ourselves with the war on terror and the Axis of Evil That's the underlying premise in this complex political thriller. The lives of a brainy group of Stanford friends intersect 25 years after graduation as China becomes not only a land of opportunity for US exports but also a growing threat to national security. The Stanford chums play influential roles in shaping US policy in the region. Was the group so blinded by their own ambitions that they failed to foresee the dangers now facing the US from China, including bombings, kidnappings, and other flagrant acts of aggression
