From the heart of Parliament to the jungles of South-East Asia, the junior British MP Richard Reynolds is taken on a terrifying journey of discovery that leads the UK to the brink of war. Only he has the knowledge to prevent a disaster unfolding in Asia, and with the fear of dark forces at work at home, Richard has his own very personal reasons that mean failure is a disaster. Built on Christopher Howarths intimate knowledge of Whitehalls military and foreign affairs, the Durian Pact blurs the lines between fact and fiction.
Christopher Howarth has worked in the corridors of Westminster for over fifteen turbulent years of politics. Working for an influential group of MPs (the European Research Group) and as a special adviser in the Home Office, advising Ministers on defence and foreign policy in and out of Government, working on leadership campaigns and standing for Parliament. Christopher has seen it all. His book inhabits a world between fact and fiction. Christopher studied Medieval History at St Andrews University, Law at York and has spent ten years in the Territorial Army. He lives in London.
