A strong, believable female protagonist and a fast paced plot make this an enjoyable read * For the Love of Books *
I thought Someone is Watching to be a gripping and exciting read. I liked the writing style (...) and I was really quite surprised and shocked by the ending (...) this is a psychological thriller which will keep you in suspense. It will have your turning the pages. This new gripping thriller from the queen of psychological suspense - a cross between The Girl on the Train and Rear Window - lays bare the shocking fallout from a vicious sex crime and follows one woman's battle to find the perpetrator... and justice (...) This slow-build, standalone page-turner, with its brilliant plotting and compelling and beautifully drawn characters, makes for a cracking read and will delight Fielding's vast army of fans -- Pam Norfolk * Liverpool Evening Post Group *
Joy Fielding has created an interesting backstory for Bailey that adds intrigue to the story (...) I found the book to be hard to put down and for me was it a real page-turner (...) * A Bookaholic Swede *
Another one to grip you by the throat....Yep, indeed someone is watching her... I won't tell you anything else. But honestly, you will hardly breathe if you keep it for yourself. Or if you must give it to someone, read it before you do so... * Frost Magazine *
I would like to start by saying what a fabulous cover, I love a good cover. I awarded five stars as I loved this book! I really enjoyed it (...) I did not expect any of the twists or turns within this story and I was very shocked at the outcome, my jaw hit the floor and the ending was another SHOCKER! This is a must read from me and I will highly recommend it to you all. This is a story that will not let you forget it! I was hooked. I think I may have found a new author to indulge in (YES!) * Gemma's Book Reviews *
Sometimes you start a book and know immediately that you are going to enjoy it because your interest is caught immediately. You want to read all day if only you could and you finish the book very quickly * Breakaway Reviewers *
5* review - 'There is so much hype around at the moment about thrillers - 'unputdownable', 'gripping', 'a real page turner', 'will keep you up all night' and(...) 'Someone is watching' is all of the above and more (...) I really loved this book and the characters - very well-written!' * All Things Bookie *
'There is so much hype around at the moment about thrillers - 'unputdownable', 'gripping', 'a real page turner', 'will keep you up all night' and unfortunately a lot of the impact of these cliches has been lost. 'Someone is watching' is all of the above and more. It is different and quite disturbing dealing with the subject matter of rape but I was glued to it. I really loved this book and the characters - very well-written!' * All Things Bookie *
'This is the first book I have read by Joy Fielding and it certainly wont be the last. There are twists and turns and you will never believe the ending. I didn't want this book to end' * Echoes in an Empty Room *
A tale about how even the most idyllic life can descend into hell...an engaging and thought provoking fictional read. * Law Society Journal Australia *
caught me by surprise on a number of levels. The subject matter is tough but Fielding handles it with sensitivity. * New Zealand Sunday Star times *
