When a mother, traveling with her young daughter, finds herself the target of hired killers in the Appalachian Mountains, she must trek across the hazardous terrain through rain and snow if she's to have any hope of saving either of them. The Appalachians are rendered in their full glory, exploring the history of the Trail, early life on the Cherokee reservation, and even moonshine. With tender moments of mother-daughter bonding punctuated by episodes of heart-thumping fear, Terror on Top of Ole Smokey will keep readers turning pages long after the lights should have gone out.
