The attempted robbery of the armoured car in the back streets of Montevideo is a miserable failure. A lucky break for the intrepid Ursula Lopez who manages to snatch all the loot, more hindered than helped by her faint-hearted and reluctant companion Diego. Only now, the wannabe robbers are hot on her heels. As is the police. And Ursula's sister. But Ursula turns out to be enormously talented when it comes to criminal undertakings, and given the hilarious ineptitude of those in pursuit, she might just pull it off.
She is an irresistible heroine. A murderess with a sense of humour, a lovable criminal with an edge and she is practically invisible to the men who dominate the deeply macho society of Uruguay.
Praise for Crocodile Tears:

'Rosende smoothly combines dark humor and farce with moving depictions of the grimmer aspects of life. Elmore Leonard fans will look forward to the sequel.' Publishers Weekly
Praise for Hand That Feeds YouSTARRED PW REVIEW: "In this darkly humorous caper, the terrific sequel to 2021's Crocodile Tears, Uruguayan author Rosende expertly juggles the different points of view of various amoral characters....Infectious characters match the playfully woven narrative. This complex portrait of social and political anxieties within Montevideo is sure to win Rosende new fans."--Publishers Weekly
Praise for Crocodile Tears: "It reads like a marvellous mash-up of Anita Brookner and Quentin Tarantino."-- The Times "Fast, slick and acerbically funny: buckle up and enjoy the ride."--Guardian ."Rosende smoothly combines dark humor and farce with moving depictions of the grimmer aspects of life. Elmore Leonard fans will look forward to the sequel." -- Publishers Weekly- STARRED REVIEW "I should guess this is the first Uruguyan crime novel to have appeared in English. It occupies Elmore Leonard/Patrick Hoffman territory, with a cast of amoral characters observed intimately and ironically." --BookBrunch "Dark thrillers often benefit from a drop of humor or a dab of irony, but Crocodile Tears is immersed in black sardonic wit for 220 pages of wicked pleasure."--CrimeTime "A bold, vibrant crime caper set in Uruguay. Hugely entertaining, this is a full-on, fresh yet heady read."-- LoveReading
