Next, 'The Million Pound Day' sees the Saint rescues a delirious man from the hands of a thug only to find himself embroiled in a currency scandal. And finally in 'The Melancholy Journey of Mr Teal' the Saint decides to relieve a couple of murderous diamond smugglers of their loot, only to find himself on the run from Teal and forced to help one of the smugglers escape.
Leslie Charteris was born in Singapore and moved to England in 1919. He left Cambridge University early when his first novel was accepted for publication. He wrote novels about the Saint throughout his life, becoming one of the 20th century's most prolific and popular authors.
