Fans of Simon Toyne and Dan Brown will be gripped by THE SEVENTH COMMANDMENT, the electrifying new conspiracy thriller by Tom Fox, author of DOMINUS.
Not every curse is ancient. Not every prophecy is true. Not every fraud is what it seems.Set in modern-day Rome, THE SEVENTH COMMANDMENT drops its readers into a world where the predictions of an ancient tablet appear to be coming true. The River Tiber starts flowing red. An fire bursts into life in the most ancient part of the Eternal City. As Rome stops in its tracks, it's up to academic, Angelina Calla, and Vatican specialist, Ben Verdyx, to form an unlikely pairing, and uncover the terrifying plot that threatens to shake the world to its core...With The Seventh Commandment, Tom Fox has produced another fine mystery thriller that is both well-written and as intriguing as it is exciting, and its Rome setting is excellent. I look forward to the next! -- forwinternights.wordpress.com
Head and shoulders above the usual Church themed thrillers with an intelligent plot and thoughtful characters * forreadingaddicts.co.uk *
The thrill of the plot, the fascinating stranger, the fabulous premise and the sympathetic character of the leading figures ensured that I was swept along by the novel and its mystery all the way to the shocking and harrowing conclusion. If you're after a fun, well-written thriller for the summer holidays then I think Dominus would suit very well indeed * forwinternights.wordpress.com *
Fox uses a strong narrative and credible dialogue to propel the story forward, while also honing the short-chapter technique that fits perfectly with the numerous cliffhanger moments embedded throughout. Fox takes the reader through a fast-pace exploration of the inner workings of the Holy See and attempts to place faith and proof under the proverbial microscope. A fascinating thriller that will pull readers in from the opening pages, Fox delivers and shows his potential as a first-rate writer in the genre * pecheyponderings.wordpress.com *
Dominus, a twisting, turning thriller with an intriguing mystery at its heart, pits good against evil, faith against cynicism, truth against lies... and is guaranteed to keep the pages turning from the knockout opening sequence to a shocking and nail-biting conclusion * Wigan Today *
Fox offers a new twist with a stronger reliance on the concept of faith and the nature of miracles . . . an entertaining read * reviewsrevues.com *
Head and shoulders above the usual Church themed thrillers with an intelligent plot and thoughtful characters * For the Love of Books *
The closing scenes had me holding my breath. No fair reading the ending first. Stick to protocol and read in the usual manner to enjoy a really good book * Bookloons *
A hugely entertaining, fast-moving story * Plucked Highbrow *
Tom Fox's storytelling emerges out of many years spent in academia, working on the history of the Christian Church. A respected authority on that subject, he has recently turned his attentions towards exploring the new stories that can be drawn out of its mysterious dimensions. Tom's second novel, The Seventh Commandment, is publishing in 2017.
