Author Bio

Dr. Sahba Shayani is Senior Lecturer in Persian at the University of Oxford. He holds a PhD in Persian literature from the University of California, LosAngeles. His research focuses on the role of women and women's agency in premodern Persian epic romance poetry, specifically FerdowsisShhnmeh(1010 CE), GorgnisVis o Rmin(10501055 CE) and NezmisKhosrow o Shirin(1191 CE).

Jackson is General Editor of The World's Greatest Myths and Legends series, with titles including 'Myths of Babylon', 'Indian Myth', 'Egyptian Myth', 'Norse Myth' and 'Polynesian Island Myth'.
