Author Bio

Dagrn sk Jnsdttir (Foreword) is a folklorist at the University of Iceland and works for the Icelandic Museum Association. In her research, her focus has mostly been on Icelandic folklore: her BA thesis focused on cannibalism in Icelandic folk legends while her MA thesis discussed modern Icelandic accounts relating to Ouija board traditions. Her PhD thesis in folkloristics focused on women, femininity and gendered power relations in Icelandic folk legends. Her research has also included supernatural beings such as ghosts and the hidden people. Dagrn has been active in the dissemination of folklore, put on exhibitions and recently took part in a big project relating to the settlement of Iceland.

Jake Jackson (General Editor) has written, edited and contributed to over 20 books. Related works include studies of Babylonian creation myths, the philosophy of time and William Blake's use of mythology in his visionary literature.
