Celebrate 25th glorious years of Lenore!
A collection of some of Lenore funniest, most sinister, and diabolically bonkers outings, charting her undead rise from the very beginning, personally hand-picked by Roman Dirge and including the gloriously ridiculous Creepig Saga in its entirety
Also features a host of pin-up art and never before- seen pictures including tattoo designs and a prototype Lenore plush doll.
-I love Lenore!- - Rosario Dawson (Iron Fist, The Defenders, Daredevil, Sin City) -I like the way Roman Dirge draws stuff.- - Neil Gaiman -Roman Dirge has the best imagination this side of Tim Burton.- Caroline Thompson, writer, Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands -You can't help but love these characters and the ridiculous antics they get themselves into.- - Horror Talk -Cute, cuddly, terrifying, gross, hilarious and brilliant all at once.- - Geek Syndicate -It's hilarious in all the wrong ways - which are, of course, the best ways.- - Critical Blast -If you enjoy shows such as Family Guy, or some of the Adult Swim stuff that's doing the rounds at the moment, then you will love this charming, macabre and very funny collection.- - Curiosity of a Social Misfit -A good wicked read to enjoy if you have slightly twisted tastes- - Teen Librarian -Darkly humorous tale- - Fan Boy Comics -Brilliantly written, smartly drawn / colored, incredibly macabre and an absolute thrill to read.- - The Pullbox Review -If Tim Burton, Edgar Allan Poe, The Cure's Robert Smith, and the creative team behind South Park getting together to hash out ideas for a collaborative Seussian -childrens- book sounds like a match made in Heck to you, then this is the comic you've been praying for.- - Pop Mythology -The book is yet another winner -- one of indie comics' most criminally underrated/under-the-radar/unknown series, in my opinion.- -He's a master of comic timing -- not easy to do in a static format -- and visually, somehow manages to make many of his panels pop off the page with movement.- - Bookgasm -Another great addition to the Roman Dirge library.- - Strange Kids Club
Roman Dirge created Lenore in 1992 for the San Diego alternative magazine Xenophobe. In 1997 he launched the Lenore comic in the US, which quickly became a publishing phenomenon. In 2009, Titan Books started publishing the new collections in full-colour. Currently Roman is working on issue #11 of the ongoing comic, as well as an all-new book called, I Can Count to Ten as well as an exciting new animated kids show for Nickelodeon.
